A Little Like Mayberry USA
We arrived at the Clifton Marina in Clifton, Tennessee on Saturday morning with thoughts of going into town for lunch. Clifton is a Mayberry type town founded in 1840. It now has one barber, one bank, one gas station and two restaurants which we found out don’t open until 5 PM, so no lunch in Clifton today. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful and they all waved to us, as we walked the mile from the marina into town, even though we were strangers. Somehow I don’t think the folks of Clifton are too concerned about any global financial meltdown that’s going on right now.
